Reporting Relationship: This position reports to a Vice President.

Summary: A CRAFT Associate Media Director is an enthusiastic team-player who’s ready to tackle any campaign, big or small. The Associate Media Director is responsible for leading the day-to-day management of advertising campaigns, working with CRAFT’s account teams to plan, present, and execute a strategy. They can easily turn data into a campaign narrative, guiding their colleagues and clients throughout the marketing process. 

The Associate Media Director produces comprehensive advertising plans, coordinates real time ad performance dashboards, and compiles thoughtful post-campaign reports. They build strong vendor relationships and coordinate with them when needed. They’re excited to tackle federal and state policy issues, reach legislators, leverage influencers, and drive grassroots audiences to take advocacy action.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Leadership, Media, Digital, and Creative to formulate ad plans, memos, and ad reports.
  • Directly manage effective, measurable, and successful ad campaigns.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of campaigns.
  • Communicate ad performance to clients and account teams effectively, translating the advertising alphabet soup into actionable insights.

DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES:

  • Develop advertising plans that clearly outline budget allocation, channel utilization, selected markets, target audiences, and other ad variables. 
  • Contribute to campaign strategy development and inform how advertising integrates with other account deliverables. 
  • Execute traditional and digital advertising buys. (This includes initiating insertion orders and placing ads programmatically.) 
  • Monitor campaign performance and communicate recommendations across the leadership, accounts, and client teams. 
  • Compile mid-flight and post-campaign ad reports that capture key data points and tells a compelling narrative. 
  • Serve as a client-facing source for campaign updates and other account-relevant contributions. 
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure CRAFT has access to the latest and greatest ad tech and digital service offerings across the industry. 
  • Contribute to the business development process when needed, including developing prospective ad strategies.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem—a strong familiarity with digital advertising platforms and base knowledge of DSPs, SSPs, and ad exchanges is required. 
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines. Execute high-quality work under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment, as well as independently and exercise sound professional judgment. 
  • Extensive experience with Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Experience with some or all of the following: Facebook Business Manager, Google Ads Manager, Google Tag Manager, Twitter Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Snapchat Ads, Google Analytics.
  • Experience with Google Data Studio, Supermetrics, Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization software.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of relevant work experience required.
  • Agency experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding to work with clients’ government affairs teams on advocacy related issues strongly preferred.

This position works closely with our Senior Art Director, Designers, Account teams and CRAFT’s Leadership to help concept and create designs. The ideal candidate will have a top-notch portfolio displaying a wide range of capabilities and creativity. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with CRAFT team members to produce, collaborate and concept designs for clients
  • Create designs from concept to completion, including but not limited to, websites, landing pages, emails, digital advertising, social media, promotional materials, new business proposals and CRAFT marketing materials
  • Handle typography, formatting and layout
  • Manage time to meet deadlines and provide high-quality deliverables
  • Other projects, duties and tasks as assigned


JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)

Reporting Relationship: This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Public Affairs.

Summary: The Director, Public Affairs is responsible for developing and implementing multi-faceted public affairs and communication strategies to effectively engage in policy debates, shape public awareness and opinion, and impact media coverage on behalf of corporate, association and nonprofit clients.

The successful Director thrives on tackling complex issues, developing creative solutions to difficult problems, and developing compelling messages and arguments that cut through and win.

The Director can move seamlessly across a mix of work that may include: state and federal legislative advocacy campaigns, industry reputation campaigns, crisis communications, ally development and coalition building, and grassroots engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day execution of client projects and oversee implementation of all elements of client
    strategies and deliverables.
  • Develop effective communications and public affairs strategies and advise client teams on strategic
    approaches and the most appropriate mix of communications and public affairs tactics for a given issue.
  • Develop and manage work plans and budgets to ensure client objectives are met with high-quality, on-
    time, and on-budget deliverables.
  • Draft compelling issue narratives, messages, and supporting communications materials.
  • Translate complex issues into understandable messages and arguments that resonate with key audiences
    and stakeholders.
  • Lead calls and team meetings to ensure regular, proactive communications.
  • Manage and grow junior team members through coaching, regular feedback, and effective delegation.
  • Provide regular, proactive communications and guidance to clients and internal teams.
  • Manage an internal team and ensure high-quality work product and clear direction.
  • Actively participate in business development by writing high-quality proposals, developing presentations,
    and taking part in pitches.


EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Qualified candidates will have:

  • A minimum of 6-8 years of directly relevant public affairs experience with specific experience in issue advocacy and complex issue/reputation campaigns
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience at a public affairs firm
  • A proven track record of successfully managing public affairs clients and accounts
  • Experience managing internal project teams
  • Experience with coalition-building, alliance development and grassroots engagement strategies
  • A solid understanding of digital, traditional, and paid media
  • Outstanding writing skills across a variety of formats including messaging, persuasive writing, op-eds, media materials and strategy documents
  • Outstanding verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Excellent client relationship management skills, and a proven ability to manage up
  • A proven, self-starter mentality with a comfort level for working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to execute high quality work under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Prior experience with state and federal legislative advocacy campaigns

Summary:  CRAFT’s Public Affairs internship provides a unique, hands-on experience to contribute to exciting projects for CRAFT’s clients.  Responsibilities include client research, monitoring and producing content for client social media communities, data entry, and assisting Account teams with client projects. The Public Affairs intern will also work collaboratively across channels with other firm employees to coordinate project goals and work duties.

Responsibilities of the Public Affairs Intern will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Conducting research and analysis as directed.
  • Drafting social and digital content.
  • Monitoring news and pulling daily news clips.
  • Participating in internal and external meetings.
  • Gathering assets for digital creative. 
  • Participating in company marketing and business development strategy.
  • Using computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, Internet browsers, calendar, e-mail and database software in performing work assignments.
  • General administrative tasks.
  • Other projects and duties as requested, directed or assigned.
