JOB DESCRIPTION
FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT
Reporting Relationship: This position reports to the Director of Production.
Summary: The Video & Animation Editor is an in-house producer for video needs – from editing interviews, to helping shoot and produce social videos, to creating 2D and 3D animation. This position works in coordination with other members of the video production unit and creative teams, and under guidance from the Director of Production and Account Directors.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce and edit video content produced both in house and from client-provided assets (videos, photos, animation, etc.). Video content includes (but is not limited to), television ads, web videos, radio ads, podcasts, OTT content, event animation, and other media products.
- Concept, design, and animate (in coordination with other members of the creative team) 2D and 3D animated videos.
- Supervise internal post-production processes, assisting where necessary to ensure projects are completed on budget and on time.
- Supervise external post-production processes, including working with color grading, audio engineering, VFX, and other outside studio teams.
- Assist with script writing and participate in creative brainstorming sessions.
- Work with Account team to ensure client needs are met and client visions are accomplished.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as line producer for video shoots.
- Ensure all camera equipment is maintained in good condition and properly stored.
- Assist the Director of Production in hiring crew and renting equipment as needed for video shoots.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- High proficiency with current video editing and design software including Adobe Premiere Pro, After
Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and other Adobe CS software (Photoshop, Illustrator). - Experience with Cinema4D and/or Blender.
- Experience working with creative teams on both live action and animated videos. Familiarity with structuring stories and narratives that interweave live action and animation.
- Experience creating and editing all types of video content, including television spots, social content, testimonials, and other video content.
- Familiarity with producing shoots with an understanding of the moving parts.
- Project management experience and the capability to coordinate internal and external resources, deliverables, and timelines to guarantee project profitability and client satisfaction.
- Applied experience with both the technical and creative aspects of video work, including video for television, social, OTT, programmatic, and other use cases.
- Professional manner and highly polished interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work successfully in a team environment, as well as to work independently, and exercise sound professional judgment.
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously in a creative environment where
interruptions are common. - Ability to multitask and prioritize projects and deadlines, executing high quality work products under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to identify and resolve obstacles with problem-solving techniques.
- Commitment to responsiveness, high quality work, confidentiality, and customer service.
- Proficiency with Apple operating systems, as well as word processing, spreadsheets, and Internet browsing applications.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2-5 years of relevant work experience required.
- Agency experience is preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Hybrid work model.
- Daily work performed Monday through Friday, 9.00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.; additional hours may be required on an as-needed basis.
- Travel may be required for various production shoots.
