Wes Battle leads CRAFT's executive positioning, corporate earnings, and crisis communications practice. He works with C-suite executives to develop compelling narratives and bring their stories to life before their most important audiences, specializing in earned media and strategic communications.

During his ten-year U.S. Navy career as a Naval Flight Officer, Wes flew the S-3B Viking carrier aircraft during two Middle Eastern deployments, supporting wartime operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Designated as a Viking Tactics Instructor—the "Top Gun" of the Viking community—he later served in Pentagon roles as Speechwriter to the Vice Chief of Naval Operations and International Affairs analyst for the Secretary of the Navy.

Following his military service, Wes served as Communications Director for a Virginia Congressman on the House Armed Services Committee, focusing on naval seapower and readiness initiatives. His communications background also includes reporting on Madison Avenue for The New York Times and writing for George magazine.

As a consultant, Wes has advised numerous corporate and non-profit clients on strategic and political communications, advocacy, media, and marketing. In 2013, he led a successful international campaign as Chief of Staff for the Committee for the Preservation of Olympic Wrestling (CPOW), reinstating wrestling to the Summer Olympics.

A Pittsburgh native and University of Virginia graduate, Wes holds an M.B.A. from Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business. He remains active in his community as vice chair for Wrestling to Beat the Streets D.C., capital campaign co-chair and board member for the First Tee of Greater Washington and as a Steward for the Living the Dream Medal Fund for USA Wrestling.

A lifelong athlete and competitor, Wes is a former college wrestler, avid golfer, and three-time Ironman triathlon finisher, including the 2011 World Championships in Kona. He resides in Washington, D.C. with his wife, three children and two dogs.
